Lots of detailed information on options for feed, boarding and care to consider either before or after acquiring a horse.
Good job to the author. This is the best practical horse book in s long time. I have stables in PA and FL and will buy the hard cover for my staff once out. This is great for the long time horse owner or the beginner. My students will enjoy this as well. Great educational tool and a must read before taking the initial plunge into horse ownership. Waiting for Part 2!

This book is easy to read and understand. It is very helpful in understanding how to take care of a horse. I was around horses a little growing up but no experience at taking care of a horse or horses first hand. This was a quick easy read that really helped sumed up the care and reality of owning a horse! Thanks so much for the help and I look forward to future books!

This book is very well written and a quick read. The author has covered the many considerations of horse ownership in a clear and concise manner. I purchased the paperback version of this book and am very pleased with my decision; I've made notes to myself on several pages through-out.
This book would be an excellent choice for a person in any stage of horse ownership; from the person who is a first-time purchaser, to someone who has been out of horse ownership for awhile and is looking to own again, to a parent looking to purchase their child's first 4-H/FFA project, to a seasoned owner who needs a quick review of the basics. It would also serve as a great learning tool for youth involved in horse related projects through 4-H, FFA, or saddle clubs.
There are also many great websites listed through-out for the reader to obtain more information, including the author's blog. I found the author's website and blog to be quite interesting, too!
